My husband's cell phone inner LCD screen got cracked while it was in his pocket. The phone still functions, but he cannot read the display to transfer phone numbers to his replacement phone. In order to transfer the data (including photos) to his new phone, do you need to have both phones? Also, do I need to have the old phone repaired in order to complete the transfer? Can the data be backed up to a disc and then transferred to his new phone via PC, or is the disc "read only?" Verizon Store said they could not transfer contact data from old phone (Samsung SCH-A870) because that was when they were just beginning to offer the service - and this phone is not supported??

We can only extract and transfer the phonebook contacts from this specific Verizon phone.  In order to do so the phone must power up completely and have a good working LCD and charge port / system connector.  In some cases we are able to temporarly repair the phone simply to extract the data and remove our parts from it after the data extraction has been completed.  Simply click on the link below and purchase the repair service along with the data transfer option that you would like.  If for some reason the phone is damaged beyond repair and the extraction of data is impossilbe, we will credit you for that part of the service. Also when paying for the service be sure to let us know in the additional details box at checkout that you do not wish to repair the phone and simply want the data extracted.
