Phone Fell in Water
Article Details

Last Updated

My phone fell in water.  Everything workds except the up and left scroll button and numbers 1,2,3,4 and 0.
I just purchased the keypad assembly kit and it's still not working.
What should I try next?

Fixing a Water Damaged phone involves a lot more steps than just changing the part that seems not to work.

Liquid is like a cancer to the phone. The particles and minerals in the liquid start to eat away at the components of the phone and this results in all kinds of problems and symptoms with the phone.

As soon as you get any liquid on your phone, immediately remove the battery and send the phone to us.  Resist the urge to put the battery back in or plugging in the charger to the phone to see if it works.  The sooner you get the phone to us the better chance of us being able to fix your phone and saving the precious data such as phonebook, pictures, videos etc... that is stored in the phone.  Do NOT under any circumstances put the battery back in the phone or plug it into the charger.
